FORMA MENTIS is a multisensory artistic experience that uses a non-clinical EEG reader to capture the micro-oscillations of brainwaves and translate them into a generative visual artwork. The device has no medical, diagnostic or therapeutic purpose.
The EEG signals collected during the session are processed locally, and solely to generate the artwork. No raw data ever leaves the device, no neurological profile is stored, shared or sold to third parties. All transient data is erased at the end of the session.
Not recommended for people with a history of photosensitive epilepsy, acute vestibular disorders, first-trimester pregnancy, or pacemaker wearers. If during the session you feel unwell, dizzy or uncomfortable, you can end the experience at any moment by removing the device.
The artwork generated from your neurological signature belongs to you. FORMA MENTIS reserves the right to keep an anonymised version in its Neural Imprints archive for documentary and educational purposes, with no reference to your identity.

No. The kit is designed to be worn and started in a few seconds. A full guide is included, and our team is available for support.
FORMA MENTIS requires a computer (Windows 10/11 or macOS 11 or later) with at least 8 GB of RAM, 10 GB of free disk space, a free USB port and Bluetooth 4.2 or higher (LE). A stable internet connection is recommended for software updates. The system also needs to be connected to a screen or video projector for output: maximum logistical flexibility allows it to adapt to any size and placement, even leveraging the client's existing infrastructure (TV, video projector, jumbotron, LED wall and similar). Recommended projectors include: Epson EH-TW840, BenQ TH575i, Epson EF-22N. We are also available to support the client in purchasing the required video equipment (screens, projectors, projection sheets and accessories).
